The Prayer of St. Francis

The only eye of God that will ever fall upon you, is the eye of another person as they look upon you.

The only hand of God that will ever touch you, is the hand of another person as they touch you.

The only voice of God that will ever speak to you, is the voice of another person as they speak to you.

The only eye of God that will ever look upon another person, is your eye when you look upon them.

The only hand of God that will ever touch another person, is your hand as you reach out and touch them.

The only voice of God that will ever speak to another person, is your voice as you dare take the time to speak to them.

Remember, therefore:

As you speak, remember, you speak with the voice of God!

As you touch, remember, you touch with the hand of God!

As you look, remember, you look with the eye of God upon His own Creation.'

Lord, let me be the instrument of Thy peace.

Where there is injury, let me bring pardon,

Where there is doubt, let me bring faith!

Lord, let me not so much receive, as give ...

for it is a dying to self.

For we are born with eternal life.

And so it is!
